I was born without hearing or a tail. I don't mind being different - it means I have special gifts to share. The story of how I found my family is published in Dogs in Canada - Gifts of Saint Bernice.
My Mama and Dada use hand signals to communicate with me. I learn very fast when I know I'll get a treat. All this helped me become a pet therapy dog and wear a special red vest so I can visit with kids who are having a hard time adjusting to big changes.
